multi-outlet power strip
Yes, power strip, but I have never seen one that wasn't also a "surge
protector" so, over here we just call them "surge protector" and that
refers to a power strip.

Surge strips (multi-outlet surge protectors, multi-outlet surge strips) are
required for the protection of delicate electronics, such as TV, VCR, DVD,
computers, printers, etc. They contain metal oxide varistors which prevent
surges from being transmitted to electronic equipment.

Power strips, outlet strips, multi-outlet power strips, which have no surge
protection, are perfectly adequate for lighting and for use as a general
extension cord where protection of delicate electronics is not required. In
fact, if you are using motorized tools such as electric drills, an outlet
strip without surge protection is probably a better choice.

I think that the general term "ciabatta" refers to the latter.
